Yes.
They do generally have soccer games on so It's likely.
No frills, just old-school pub comfort & good eats with a decent offering of beers & spirits. Two of my favorites here are the fish & chips and the housemade chili. Friendly staff; plentious darts!
Food was really good. Service was great
Great vibe, but don't park in the post office lot, even after hours.
Great atmosphere and crowd. Very tranquil and and laid back environment overall.
Good food, beer selection, and coffee. Reliable service and some noteworthy partnerships with local vendors to source their coffee, meat, and some bread products.
I really liked this bar. Great to meet up with friends, and play darts.
The London Underground has a great pub atmosphere that isn't overrun by Virginia Tech undergrads and has a great mixture of local regulars with some of the more "down to earth" college folk. The food is delicious with specials that never disappoint with a decent beer selection. A big thumbs up for using local beef for their burgers. Throw in that it's the best place for darts in the surrounding area and that's why it's easily one of our favorite "go to's" in Blacksburg.
Good beer, great service. Darts, Foosball, and surprise musical guests.
Good quality drinks for great prices. Their fish and chips are good, and they have malt vinegar, so that's an extra 5 points for gryffindor.
I love this place! They have the best brunch in Blacksburg and serve Strange Coffee which isn't bad. Favorites include complete English breakfast and Huevos Rancheros.
Fun food and darts!
Friendly staff and great food!! On top of the 6 regulation dartboards. London Underground was well worth the stop while in the Virginia Tech area.
Had a great Sheppard pie. Made with sweet potato instead of mashed potato. Excellent!! Was busy tonight and service was good.
Fantastic place all the way arou d, will never leave you wanting!
The pub is a classic spot for all the locals in the area. I've never had food here but the atmosphere alone is 5 star worthy!
My boyfriend and I love the underground. It’s our usual bar for a date night. The food is good bar food, the bartenders are polite and take good care of customers. The crowd is laid back and usually groups of people enjoying time with friends. Oh! Also, they have great a great beer selection and happy hour all week!
Love the foods!! Not my vibe though 🤔 probably better fit for older people (above 30?)
Not expensive drinks, pretty good food and the bathroom is usually much cleaner then most of the other bars in town. Lots of professors, PhD students, and restaurant industry folks frequent this place. I used to go here quite often when I first moved here. Not so many drunk sorority girls pukng on themselves either. More of a Towney bar.
Good drinks and a cool place to hang out. I love the very laid back atmosphere! The food isn't anything special but there are definitely some interesting items on the menu worth trying. Quite a few dart lanes here. It's a small space, so the pub does tend to get very crowded on weekends.
Great pub atmosphere- usually not too crowded and it's a great place to sit down and chill with your friends or a date if that's the mood you are going for. Ginormous portions of food with reasonably priced drinks.
Great atmosphere - surprisingly exceptional food and service. Sunday brunch is a must try and there's always something new and unique on the menu. If you're a resident or periodic visitor, this pub will grow on you. Typically filled with a community of friends.
Nice pub you are able to drink with your friends, and they offer some food and bear.
Amazing rotational specials! Great service
Great beer selection and excellent service. The Jon's run a tight ship! The pub food rivals restaurants in town.
Good beer, food, prices and staff
Eh..depends on the time of day. Service can be slow and a few of the staff hate life but it's nice to have a certified dive in a college town so I'm not hating too much.
The food is amazing AND inexpensive. Great local products on the menu, without the pretentious attitude that often comes along with that. Don't show up if you're going to be an obnoxious drinker. They aren't going to tolerate any shenanigans. Which is very much appreciated in my book.
Great relaxed atmosphere, not a party bar. They have a lot of options for locally-sourced meat, bread, and coffee. No frills, no craziness. Everyone is friendly and there's a lot of repeat customers. This is our go-to place to just go grab a beer and/or hang out with friends downtown. Dress up or dress down. They've got both standard fare and some interesting choices on the menu; on that note, you should most definitely go for breakfast. Great prices, too!
Friendliest company and sharpest darts in town
Guinness on tap, friendly bar keeper and a "pub" feel that was very nice. It was crowded, there was no seating available so I didn't get to try the food, but I will be back.
Food was very good. Wait staff was very nice
I liked it. Been hanging out at the pub since I can remember. If your a dart player or just like a chill place try it you will like it!
Cold beer and great food, what else can you ask for?
the food is delicious and a cool vibe. i would really recommend the fried chicken sandwich, it is amazing.
Great selection of beer. The pint glasses were authentic shape too!
I always forget about this place, but I love it. Not filled with students either and has a great beer selection. The food is great and serving size is rather large.
I've been coming here for 20 years and it has always been my favorite bar in town (along with the River Mill). The food is terrific, especially the homemade Ruben, and the drinks and staff are too. Darts, foosball, quiet spots, nice bar seating, perfect atmosphere, it's all there. Can get crazy busy on Friday nights.
Excellent food and great service. Blackburgs best kept secret.
Graduate student, lecturer, professor, or other "senior" appointment? This is the place to drink. Eat too, if that's your thing. But this is the place to find both cheap beer and food beer (with some overlap between categories) and people to converse with. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the beer selection good, the prices reasonable, and the food surprisingly delicious. The décor fits the name but it's no big city dive.
Definitely a hidden gem in Blacksburg. Although it doesn't look like much from the outside and there is almost always someone smoking on the patio, inside their food is all homemade, delicious and ready really quickly. I love their fish and chips, sausage platter and chicken sandwich. We frequent the undergound for lunch only so I can't speak to dinner but I'd say it's similar.
If you want to avoid the Virginia Tech meat markets (places the college kids go to be ridiculous and annoying), this is a a great place to grab a beer and some pretty great bar foods. If darts is something you enjoy, this is also the place to go. It's straightforward, a little grungy, and has tons of personality.
A pretty chill place to hang out and play darts. I enjoyed my time. Perhaps it was the company though...
The Pub is a staple in this town. Great people work here at the Pub. They help create a community, and they serve one of the best Brunches in Town!
Good happy hour (and regular priced) drinks, lots of dart boards, and usually isn't crowded. The only slight negative is that happy hour ends at 8 instead of 9 like most other places.
I've always enjoyed this little Blacksburg bar. Good food and great employees.
The pub has good food and great service. There are tv's, darts and a great bar. Cheese fries were good, hamburger is full of flavor. Siracha sauce is tasty, course.
Casual bar with plenty of dart boards and reasonably priced drinks. Good spot for an older crowd looking to avoid the typical college scene. Get there early in the night if you want a table
Love coming here to play darts. The staff is always friendly and the happy hour specials are great!
One of my favorite hangouts in Blacksburg. Un pretentious, friendly, mostly regulars. Food is locally sourced and yummy. Had Cajun burger-medium rare, soup of the day, and the best onion rings I ever had. Justine makes one mean Old Fashioned... And the beer selection is great. Do yourself a favor and stop by by at The Underground.
Service was GREAT. The food was really good. I suggest the German Potato Salad with a little Malted vinager on top!
